Backing up to an External Hard Drive
1. Purchase an external hard drive that is at least 500 GB (1 TB is best) at any electronics retailer.

2. Connect the device to your laptop
3. Open the device and create folders to store backed up files

4. Back up your pictures
5. Back up your Movies and Music.
6. Back up your bookmarks.
Select File, Export Bookmarks.
Save file to your backup location.
7. Save the bookmark files to the back up disk in the Bookmarks folder.

Note: Depending on your computer, your music and movie folders might be in a different location. This will almost always be under User on the hard drive. Just open the Finder, choose Macintosh HD, then select User and you will see the music and movie folders.
